History of Conference “Problems of Present-day Electrotechnics”
History of the conference began in 1969 when the first Scientific Conference on electrical energy conversion was hold in Kyiv. It was the first large gathering of scientists and engineers, theoreticians and practitioners, representatives of various companies and organizations – specialists in the field of converting machinery and power electronics; gathering where almost all main problems of electrical energy and power conversion were discussed.

During the period till 1991 five conferences entitled “Problems of converting equipment” was organized. New life with a different name and title of conference was expanded in 2000 when 6-th International Scientific Conference “Problems of present-day electrotechnics” started. Since 2000 conference is organized every 2 years to join scientists from Ukraine, Russia, Baltic countries, Poland, Czech Republic, Bulgaria, the United States, and other countries.
The peculiarity of the International scientific conference “Problems of present-day electrotechnics” was the introduction, along with the traditional form of submission of such forms as poster presentations.

The conference is held under the auspices of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (NASU), Institute of Electrodynamics of NAS of Ukraine in cooperation with leading Ukrainian research organizations and universities:
– National Technical University “Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute”;
– Scientific Council on Fundamentals of Electrical Power Engineering of NASU;
– IEEE Ukraine Section;
– Fund “Lady Science”.

Range of problems conference in the years of its existence, expanded according to the latest trends in electronics, power engineering, converting equipment, control systems, analysis theory and process calculation.

Publication of conference papers will be in issue of journal “Tekhnichna electrodynamika” which is included in international scientific periodicals and presented in Ukrainian referring systems, “Abstract Journal” VINITI RAN (Russia, Moscow), Scientific Electronic Library of Russia ELIBRARY and is sent for review to Scopus and IndexCopernicus international databases.
